Sold out
W. & C. Scott, London, extraordinarily rare 8-bore self-cocking, nitro-proof, hammer gun, ca. 1898. Weight: 11 lbs. 14 1/4 " LOP. Magnificent 39 1/2 " (original length) Damascus steel barrels with 3 1/4 ton nitro proofs have mint bores and retain most of the original beautiful brown finish. Right barrel engraved on top "W. & C. Scott, THE COMBINATION". Bar action hammer sidelock, top lever opening action is fully self-cocking as the barrels drop open. In addition the gun is equipped with an automatic safety. Double underlugs and crossbolt third fastener. Action and locks retain most of the original hardening colors. Figured pistol grip stock and splinter forend retain most of the original finish and show little use. Overall about as fine an 8-bore water fowler as you will find and a great rarity.
