James Purdey, London, best 12ga. self-opening sidelock ejector game gun completed in January, 1953. Weight 6 lbs. 14 oz. Stock dimensions: 14 1/2"x 1 5/8"x 2 1/4"x 3/8" cast-off. 28" chopper lump barrels with original 2 3/4" chambers and mint bores (.732"/.732"), choked .019"/.030", wall thickness .034"/.035". Self-opening action with hidden third fastener, side clips, bushed pins, ejectors, and double triggers. Figured straight grip stock with original 1/2" thick leather covered butt pad. Beaver tail forend. Overall retaining virtually all the original finish and showing little evidence of use. Original maker's oak and leather case with original accessories, factory letter, and original canvas outer cover. |
