Merkel "Custom Engraved", Model 160-SL, best sidelock double rifle in .375 H&H Magnum. Weight 10 1/2 lbs. Stock dimensions: 14 3/8"x 1 3/8"x 2 5/8"x 1/4" cast-off. Fine 23 1/2" steel barrels with beautiful full length, wide, file cut top rib have one standing and one folding rear leaf sight with ramp front sight. Best reinforced sidelock action with double underlugs, Greener cross-bolt third fastener, side clips, bushed firing pins, extractors, double triggers, and non-automatic safety. Stunningly embellished with full coverage deep relief bamboo thickets and game scenes by master engraver, Olaf Weiss, and signed by the artist. Highly figured pistol grip stock and splinter forend with Deeley latch. This magnificent rifle is part of the "Master Engraver Series of Collector Guns" offered by Merkel and comes in the original box with all original documents. Additionally there is the original leather makers case in its own unopened box. Regulated with Federal .375 H&H ammo and 300 gr. Weldcore bullets. Overall absolutely mint, unused, original condition throughout. Replacement cost with the custom engraving would be well over $18,000.
