Le Page- Unusual 12 Ga. Damascus Hammer Gun, ca. Early 1900's

Price: EUR 8750,-
Sold out
Le Page, Liege, unusual and extremely fine 12ga. hammer gun, ca. early 1900's. Weight: 6 lbs. 9 oz. Stock dimensions: 14 1/2"x 1 1/2"x 2 3/8"x 1/4" cast-off. Stunning 26" (original length) Damascus steel barrels of the absolute highest quality with 2 3/4" chambers, original nitro proofs (never a black powder gun), retain 100% of their beautiful original brown finish. Absolutely mint bores measuring .729"/.729" with chokes .029"/.028" and wall thicknesses of .039"/.035". Very unusual and incredibly strong action with double underlugs, both third and fourth fasteners, and side clips. The fourth fastener was, apparently, a LePage innovation and is so marked in gold inlaid letters on the right barrel, "LePage Interchangeable Quadruple Wedge Bolt". The highly sculpted side clip action and rebounding-hammer, bar-action, side locks are beautifully game scene engraved and of the finest quality. Nicely figured straight-grip stock and splinter forend with a later leather-covered butt pad. Double triggers and extractors. Overall about as fine a hammer gun as you could hope to find.
