What could be better than taking three-week hunting safaris to both Tanzania and Zambia? Not much, unless you could do it as a father and son. In the first half of this video, John Jennings introduces his father Doug to safari hunting in Tanzania. Hunting with Swanepoel and Scandrol Safaris, the safari begins in Western Tanzania in the Ugunda concession where they take a large array of plains game including roan, sable, topi, greater kudu, waterbuck, as well as many other species, even a bushpig. Transferring to Masailand in the Longido concession rare Masailand species are taken such as lessor kudu, Thompson gazelle, Grant's gazelle, gerenuk and eland. An amazing encounter in the bush with local Masai results in an invitation to enjoy a traditional Masai ceremony. This incredible journey bonds the father son duo as they experience the breath taking scenery, majestic wildlife and the noble Masai warriors. Both father and son have a successful safari but the hunt does not yield the trophy lion that John was looking for.

In the second half of this video, John and Doug introduce their younger brother/son Bryan to his first African safari which takes place in Zambia in the Mumbwa west concession. The hunters have a very successful hunt taking two leopards, hippo, sable, hartebeest, waterbuck, puku, reedbuck plus many other plains game species. John and Doug's leopards are taken during the day on the same afternoon providing for some spectacular footage. Although this film is organized as a linear travelogue, it is well worth watching as it is steeped in the tradition and heritage of hunting with a punctuation on hunting as a critical tool in wildlife conservation. The video also takes place in some of the most game-rich areas in Africa, which also happen to have a huge diversity of species. The entire adventure was recorded with excellent HD cameras, and the video has good sound and good graphics and is well paced.
