Griffin & Howe, New York, superb custom Mauser action sporting rifle in .308 cal. and stocked by the legendary, Tom Shelhamer. Weight 9 lbs. 13 5/8" LOP. Superb 22" tapered round barrel with 1/4 rib and ramp front sight. Bore is absolutely mint. Beautifully engraved and buttery smooth Mauser action with G & H side mounts and classic 4X Stith scope in addition to the Lyman 48 rear sight. Deluxe Canjar trigger. Flawlessly stocked in walnut by the incomparable Thomas Shelhamer who, along with Bobby Owen and Alvin Linden, was considered to be the greatest stockmaker of the pre-war era. Steel butt plate with trap door compartment for storage of the Lyman 48 rear sight. This magnificent rifle was featured on the cover of the April, 2003, issue of "Precision Shooting" Magazine (subscriptions www.precisionshooting.com)which could not be a more appropriate place as it is a real "one-holer". A copy of that cover and the "About the Cover" verbiage is included with the ad photos at right. Overall absolutely mint condition throughout and comes in an extremely high quality custom full length case.
